R.Y.L.A. (Rotary Youth Leadership Award)
The RYLA committee runs the program on behalf of the District. It invites clubs to nominate young men and women between the ages of 18 and 25, who have shown some leadership qualities to participate.
RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to
• Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
• Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders
• Encourage leadership of youth by youth
• Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities
RYLA is a week - long seminar where awardees live in. The week concludes with a dinner and presentation by participants.
Returning RYLARIANS provide outstanding presentations to clubs, many Rotarians being astounded at what participants have gained by their involvement.
Selected RYLARIANS are invited to participate in future years as course leaders.
This program identifies young people who in future years will make excellent Rotarians.
